I’m 57. Born and bred in Nottingham. My partner in crime is Rachel. I am a mother of grown
up children and our family is ever expanding with the addition of grandchildren. I am also
the pack leader for Peggy, our Labradoodle. I have been a nurse for in excess of 20 years
which has been very rewarding and challenging at times, particularly during the COVID-19
pandemic. From the very beginning of our relationship it was obvious that Rachel and I
shared similar goals and aspirations. Having spent 16 years paying the mortgage and trying
to maintain the house on a single salary my dream had always been to renovate the house
once the mortgage was finished. I finally cleared the mortgage in 2020 and with Rachel’s
help the renovation began in ernest. This has meant that my family time is even more
enjoyable as the house now has a calm and cosy feel. My main hobby is being creative in the kitchen. I also love long walks in the countryside with Peggy. I love welcoming new people to my home, from all walks of life, and providing that home from home service.
I’m 52. Born and bred in London. My partner is Lisa. We met whilst I was living in Spain. I
have 2 children, one here and one in Spain which does make life busy! I worked in the City of London as an investment accountant for many years before motherhood. Whilst living in Spain I have been a claims assessor for a pet healthcare company. The COVID-19 pandemic enabled me to bring my job back to the UK so that Lisa and I could live together. I have found DIY skills that I
never knew I had. I have laid floors, made skirting boards and architrave, mended windows,
stairs and doors, built cupboards, rearranged the kitchen, painted….. the list goes on. Seeing
our house blossom has given me huge pleasure and a real sense of achievement. My hobbies are quizzing and socialising, swimming, spinning. I love 5* reviews. I aim for that with every client. It gives me a real kick to know that we've made their leisure time special.
Renovating started in July 2020. Huge jobs such as re-wiring, new damp proof course, new floors and new ceilings took a year to complete. Year 2 began with redecorating every room in the house. 17 of them! Some just needed painting, some were just bricks and needed everything. Throw 11 feet high ceilings into the mix and it was slow going and hard work. All the time though we were writing our website and researching our style and brand so that we knew what we were buying in preparation for when the work was finished. It sounds funny now but the excitement of buying beds and bedding was huge. Dressing our rooms and seeing our dreams take shape was amazing. Suddenly our dream was becoming a reality. We opened in July 2022. The weather was beautiful and we were lucky enough to have guests the following weekend and received our first 5* review.
Fast forward to March 2024. We haven’t rested on our laurels. We’ve gradually added to the room facilities in order to improve the levels of comfort that we are able to offer our guests. After much planning we closed for 3 weeks whilst we put in a selection of en-suite bathrooms and shower rooms. The difference it has made to the feel of the rooms can’ be underestimated and justifies all the hard work that has gone into them.
